I used to be the type of person who always wanted to be where the action was. If there was an event happening I was there, if someone wanted to hang out I would always say yes, if someone needed help with a project I would do it!
But, I have learned that sometimes I need my quiet time. Quiet time by myself has played a very important part in helping me develop my own skills and also helping me recharge so I can be a fully present person when I am getting together with friends or helping someone with a project. I have learned that sometimes you have to say “no” to things in the moment so you can say “yes” in the future.
If you are a “yes” person and find it difficult to say no sometimes, remember that your needs are important too. You are valuable. Time is truly precious and life is too short to spend on events and happenings that we are not passionate about or do not bring us joy.
Let us encourage each other in the practice of taking time for ourselves and growing in who we are. Putting aside time to rejuvenate, relax, and recharge so we can be fully present and dedicated in everything we say yes to.
You are worth of taking time and energy to just spend time with you.
