Can you tell us your name and what you do, and something you love about what you do?
My name is Jana Contreras. I am a photographer located in Northern California. I love what I do because I get to capture different love stories every week and tell a story that is so unique each time. I get to know each couple so closely that we become friends and I love that so much! They let me into their life and are so vulnerable to show me their love for each other. It’s just one amazing job and most of the time I get to travel with it which I love too!
What do you love about your style?
My style is minimalistic. I love basic colors and a basic wardrobe that can match with most things. I love my style because it’s easy to make an old outfit look new by changing out one piece for another.
Why did you pick the outfit you are wearing in this photo shoot?
I picked this outfit because right now I am loving the boho look. I love Ooh La Luxe and Spell so much. These stores represent a part of my style which is why I wore it. Another store I love but did not wear in this shoot is Madewell. I think there store is one that perfectly displays minimalism at its finest.
How does this outfit represent you?
This outfit represents me because I love the freedom to choose different styles when I want. Sometimes I love simple outfits and sometimes I love boho outfits with a little personality to it.
What is your favorite part of getting dressed in the morning?
I love being able to create a new outfit each day with things I have always had. I love the art in fashion so much.
What advice could you give to someone who wants to express themselves more through their fashion?
I say be yourself and have fun with your style! Choose an outfit each day that expresses who you are and have fun with it. Remember there are no real rules to fashion so just be you and wear what makes you feel good.
