Welcome to The Art of Fashion, the space where I share the pieces I love and the styles that help me express who I am. I believe that fashion is not about the latest trends or who wore what. Fashion is about allowing yourself to feel beautiful, and finding the pieces and styles that are a representation of your inner beauty and who you are.

Chic and fresh, this summer look is just the right amount of classy with a pop of fun. I love this printed cotton/linen skirt. It is comfortable, stylish, and sits right at my waist creating a flattering and somewhat vintage silhouette. The white sheer blouse keeps this look updated thanks to its contemporary design and the red shoes are a colorful addition to an otherwise neutral color palette.

During warm summer days rompers and dresses are my favorite go-to pieces, but over the past year I have acquired some cute and comfy skirts that are perfect for the sunshine and can easily be dressed up or down. There are a couple of reasons why I love this particular skirt: It is lined with a light cotton fabric that feels soft against the skin, it is the perfect length for flats or heels, and the blue stripes with the bright yellow print is so cute!

Since my skirt is simple I thought it would be fun to add in elements of boho style with my jewelry and bring in a pop of bright color with my shoes! Red is definitely a bold choice but thanks to the shape and cut of these flats they are the perfect accessory and compliment the contemporary tone of this look. And I must mention my earrings! They are bold and beautiful and their unique design contrasts the pattern of the skirt.

Eclectic. That is the one word I would use to describe this outfit. Google defines eclectic as, “deriving ideas, style, or taste from a broad and diverse range of sources,” and that’s what this look is all about. Pulling different sides of my style together to create something unique, fun, and colorful. Sometimes it is difficult to step outside of what we are comfortable with to try something new. Yet, often we won’t know we like something until we give it a try. I want to encourage you to broaden your style sources and ideas. Maybe try on a piece at the store that you wouldn’t normally try on, or wear a cute pair of flats with an outfit you would normally wear with heels. Fashion is meant to be an expression of who we are. If you find a piece or a style that makes you feel happy and true to yourself, wear it, even if it is unique. Because we are unique beings that are not meant to all look the same or wear the same thing.
