The Top 5 Films To Watch Before The Holidays

It’s that time of year to layer on your warmest comfy clothes, curl up on the couch with a hot drink, and watch your favorite fall films. Here is our list of the top 5 fall films to watch before the holidays begin.

The Lord of The Rings: Fall wouldn’t be complete without a journey through Middle-earth with our favorite hobbits and the wise wizard Gandalf. Plan a weekend-in and binge watch all three movies, and of course stock up on yummy snacks before the saga begins. 😉

How to Train Your Dragon: This animated film brings just the right amount of adventure to a cozy fall night. Allow yourself to be swept away into a world of dragons and vikings, and take in the breathtaking animation and heartfelt story of a boy who befriends an unusual dragon.

Anne of Green Gables: The 1985 TV mini-series Anne of Green Gables is our favorite adaptation of this well-loved novel. Filled with beautiful Canadian landscapes and energetic performances by the stunning cast, the film sweeps you away into the world of a young orphan girl Anne Shirley. There are lovable characters, wistful music, and meaningful dialogue, the perfect company for a cool fall evening.

Julie & Julia: Part chick flick and part biography, Julie & Julia follows the life of beloved home-cook Julia Child and want-to-be writer Julie Powell, as each woman embarks on her own culinary venture that is uniquely intertwined. Featuring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams, the film brims with warmth and good food, taking us on a journey of relationships, aspirations, and the comfort of a home-cooked meal.

The Nightmare Before Christmas: No November would be complete without the stop-motion classic, The Nightmare Before Christmas. This Halloween/Christmas musical is the perfect film to begin the holiday season. The story follows the king of Halloweentown, Jack Skellington, as he discovers Christmastown and the cheer this festival brings. Wanting desperately to be a part of the celebration, Jack will do anything, even kidnap Santa Clause, to experience Christmas.

We hope these 5 fall films bring you joy and usher in the holiday season with cheer!
