Avengers: Endgame – Our Wishlist of After-Credits Scenes We’d Like to See

Avengers: Endgame is right around the corner, Marvel fans! Throughout this Cinematic Universe’s incredible history of over 20 films, a huge part of the hype is built on the after-credits scenes that tease the next super heroes and villains on the horizon. In the first Iron Man (2008) film, the idea of the Avengers was hinted after the credits, and now we’ve come full circle. With this possibly being the last of the Avengers series, here’s our wishlist of after-credits scenes we’d like to see. Let us know in the comments what you think is coming after Avengers: Endgame!

Preview of Spider-Man: Far From Home

We’ll start off with a safe pick. The trailer for the new Spider-Man film has been out for some time, and we know that it’s the next Marvel film after Avengers: Endgame. There have also been reports that the next trailer for this film won’t come out until after the Avengers release, due to potential spoilers. If Marvel doesn’t want to reveal any of their new films on their slate just yet, it might be possible that the next after-credits scene will give us an extended preview into what Peter Parker is up to in Europe, and who the new character Mysterio might be.

The Eternals

Another confirmed film on the Marvel slate is The Eternals, and the hype surrounding it is starting to heat up (Angelina Jolie is in talks to star in the film). In the comics, the Eternals are a powerful race of cosmic beings who have existed for millions of years and are scattered across the solar system. Thanos, also happens to be part Eternal himself! With the MCU already having films that have explored space with Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain Marvel, it’s not out of the question for them to keep expanding their lore further into the cosmos. The Eternals could be previewed at the end of Endgame, especially if Thanos is defeated. This would open up the MCU to an endless amount of story arcs that don’t have to take place on Earth, and it could even introduce audiences to lesser-known characters that have yet to get the spotlight.

The Next Marvel Villain…?

A more traditional pick is to tease the next grand villain of the series. Similar to how Thanos was teased in the first Avengers film and how it revealed to fans the true mastermind lurking in the shadows, Endgame’s after-credit scene might give us a peek to an even bigger threat to the Universe than Thanos. There’s only a handful of Marvel villains that can top the Infinity Gauntlet-wielding titan in the comics, and the MCU might want to adapt some of them onto the big screen for the first time. My personal favorite would have to be the devourer of worlds himself, Galactus. Especially considering Disney’s recent purchase of Fox’s key film assets and properties (more on that below!), this is one possible route that the MCU might choose.

X-Men/Fantastic Four Reboots

Speaking of Marvel villains and the Disney-Fox acquisition, the same can be said of the heroes as well! Fox had previously held the rights to some of the most popular Marvel heroes such as the X-Men and the Fantastic Four. With these properties under Disney, the after-credit scene in Endgame might be the perfect opportunity to introduce an entirely new cast of heroes. If Galactus turns out to be one of the villains slated for the MCU, then no doubt the Fantastic Four have to show up, considering that Galactus first appeared in a Fantastic Four comic. Or perhaps we can get a tease for another clash of heroes, hinting towards the Avengers vs. X-Men storyline hitting the big screen for the first time.

Deadpool

Deadpool was also part of the Fox lineup that was purchased by Disney, and there are some hints that the Ryan Reynolds version of the character will remain intact when the films are moved. I can see this happening if Marvel decides to go with a humorous after-credits scene. Who better to break the fourth wall and ease all the tension after a long battle than the Merc with a Mouth?
