How To Transition Your Winter Wardrobe Into Spring Styles

Welcome to The Art of Fashion, the space where I share the pieces I love and the styles that help me express who I am. I believe that fashion is not about the latest trends or who wore what. Fashion is about allowing yourself to feel beautiful, and finding the pieces and styles that are a representation of your inner beauty and who you are.

Happy Spring! With warmer weather approaching it’s time to start transitioning our wardrobes from heavy winter wear items to light and airy pieces for spring. This look is all about easy pieces you can use to help transition your winter wardrobe into spring styles.

The Jacket. Jackets are an easy way to make a spring outfit weather appropriate. I like this Cabi jacket because it has a neutral color and is lightweight. If you are looking for a new spring jacket, pick one that you love! Sometimes with layering pieces it is easy to value functionality over personal style. But, I think you can have function and style. For your new spring layering item pick a piece that makes you happy when you wear it.

Dark Jeans. Dark jeans are the perfect piece to help transition your warm weather tops into spring styles. I chose the dark jeans with this outfit because they act as an anchor piece to my very lightweight white blouse. The jeans also help express my style during this time of year. I like to wear lightweight pieces during spring, but I am not yet ready for floral patterns and beachy outfits. So, this look is a great middle ground for me. I have my lightweight top, but I still feel weather appropriate with my dark jeans.

A Fun Bag. Spring is the best time to experiment with fun new bags! This bold clutch by Rachel Pally completes my whole look and gives the perfect pop of color. If you are looking for a new bag this season, try something that stands out instead of looking for a piece that pairs with your entire wardrobe. Look for a bag that represents your style and reminds you of all the reasons you love spring.

This spring I hope you find pieces that represent what spring means to you. Whether that be bright colors and bold patterns, or neutrals and delicate prints.
