Trendy and Sophisticated

Welcome to The Art of Fashion, the space where I share the pieces I love and the styles that help me express who I am. I believe that fashion is not about the latest trends or who wore what. Fashion is about allowing yourself to feel beautiful, and finding the pieces and styles that are a representation of your inner beauty and who you are.

As summer comes to a close, colorful rich hues begin to show themselves, the evenings become cooler and shorter, and the transition from summer to fall wardrobe begins. I love this time of year. I redecorate my home for a cozy atmosphere and am filled with anticipation for the moment I get to pull out all of my favorite sweaters.

This look is fall inspired with summer functionality. The burnt orange top is constructed of light sweater material and the wide-leg jeans are comfortable, made from a more pliable fabric. The open-toe ankle boots showcase a signature autumn hue, olive green, and are the perfect shoe for this fall forward outfit. The large ivory earrings and red lipstick complete the look creating a space where every color is significant.

This outfit is a true expression of my style. It is fun and daring, bold and unique, trendy and sophisticated. I love how the jeans and the blouse are a part of current trends, such as the crop top and the wide-leg pant, but each piece is also constructed of quality fabrics, is comfortable, and has interesting details. The criss-cross back and the deep V-neck of the top keep the piece casual, and the frayed let-down hemline of the jeans gives this basic pant style.

The colors themselves are what draw me to this outfit. The hues are all neutrals with burnt orange, faded jean, olive green, and ivory, and are pulled together with a splash of red (the lipstick). The colors are reminiscent of fall leaves and pumpkins, they feel warm and inviting.

I think I love this look so much because it reminds me of fall and everything that comes with this season. I love Pumpkin Spice Lattes and cold crisp days, and cozy sweaters might just be one of my favorite things in the whole world. This outfit allows for a taste of a fun fall wardrobe while still being cool enough to wear while it is 80 degrees outside. For me, this is the perfect look to begin transitioning my summer style into fall fashion.

As your fall festivities begin and your calendar fills with events and family gatherings, remember to take moments for yourself. Remember to enjoy this new season and the experiences the upcoming months will bring. Let yourself curl up on the couch in your most comfy sweater with your favorite hot drink, and remember that you are worth loving yourself, that your feelings and experiences are valid, and that the things that bring you joy are important. To the beginnings of a beautiful fall season.
