Can You Use Oil As a Moisturizer?

Here at Trendeing we are all about healthful beauty products that are easy to use and do not break the bank. One of the beauty products we love are natural oils that can be found at almost any grocery store or can be easily ordered online. Pure natural oils can be used as a daily body moisturizer or face moisturizer and leave your skin silky smooth.

If you have never used pure oil on your skin before the best place to start is to find an oil that absorbs well into your skin, has a scent that you like, and has a comfortable feel on your skin. Different oils vary in consistency, smell, and rate at which they absorb so trying out a couple different kinds will help you determine which one works best for you.

Some of our favorite oils include almond oil and coconut oil but there are many more oils to choose from such as grape seed oil, avocado oil, sesame seed oil, and olive oil to name a few.

One thing to be careful of when using a straight oil as a moisturizer is to not use too much. If you over oil your skin it will take a long time for the oil to sink in and fully absorb. A great way to portion control oil is to follow the “less is more” rule. A little oil goes a long way so start with a small amount and if you need more you can always put more on.

A fun way to customize your oil is to scent it with your favorite essential oils making your moisturizer even more healthful for your skin and enjoyable for your senses.

Remember to have fun with this process of discovery and to enjoy the journey of creating a healthful beauty solution that is unique to you and your skin.
