All You Need to Know About the Best Teas for Fall

Fall is here! Pumpkins, spices, cool breezes, sweaters, and one of my absolute favorite things – TEA! I am a year-round tea drinker. I drink tea every morning and almost every night before bed. While I can think of several reasons why every human should jump on the tea train, one of the main ones for me is that Tea is good for you! There are several teas out there that boost immunity, something to consider as cooler weather and the ever-lurking cold and flu season approaches. And you don’t need actual tea bags to drink tea, per se, you can even make your own tea at home.

There are many options when it comes to tea. So here are some tea varieties that we think would be an excellent addition to any fall cabinet.

Green Tea

Made with deliciously steamed tea leaves that lend themselves to grassy and flower-like flavors. My recommendation for fall is to choose a smooth Genmaicha, which is a mix of Sencha tea leaves and brown rice. My absolute favorite Genmaicha is sold by Red Blossom Tea Company in San Francisco.

Black Tea

Made with fermented tea leaves, this popular tea not only has the most caffeine content (so is perfect as a pick-me-up in the morning!), this tea is also very versatile. You can drink it straight, add milk, add sugar, add honey… the options are endless. My favorite black tea to drink in the fall is split evenly between an Earl Grey (order a London Fog next time you are in your favorite coffee shop) and a nice traditional Chai (Latte’s, anyone?). My favorite Chai tea is sold by Tazo Tea and my favorite Earl Grey tea is sold by Numi Organic Tea

White Tea

White Tea is an uncured and unfermented tea. It is truly one-of-a-kind with its taste offerings, being very delicate with how unprocessed it is. One of my favorite companies to buy tea from (because of their environmentally responsible packaging and sustainable way of harvesting their teas) is Teatulia. Teatulia offers this fabulous White Tea that is perfect for fall.

Herbal Tea

Not to disappoint all of the herbal-tea-lovers out there, but these teas are not a true “Tea” as they do not derive from the Camellia sinensis plant (the plant where we get all other teas). There is a benefit to this…herbal teas are caffeine free! Herbal teas are incredibly delicious, creative, and useful in so many ways. One of my favorite methods to wind down after a long day is to drink a cup of herbal tea. Also, if you have a stomach ache, ginger tea is the absolute best with helping your digestion and getting rid of any sour tummy pains. One of my go-to brands for herbal tea is Yogi. They offer several teas that help with sickness of all kinds, but also teas that just make you feel great. My favorite Yogi tea to drink before bedtime right now is Soothing Caramel Bedtime® Tea.

Festive Teas

I can’t let these gems escape! The Republic of Tea really has it down when it comes to creative, seasonal teas!
